HAPPY 1/2 BIRTHDAY CYNTHIA CONNIE!!

Happy 1/2 Birthday C.C.!!! Our baby girl will be 6 months old today and we have LOVED every minute of having her in our lives.. We feel truly BLESSED to have such a precious daughter of God in our family! I would never have guessed I would LOVE having a little girl as much as I do!! I've always been a tomboy, so I was afraid to have a girl and not know what to do with her. haha.. Sounds dumb, I know.. BUT, ask me how many times I've done her hair... She is lucky when she gets a bow in it. Tasha put pigtails in on New Years, but other than that it's a bow or nothin! lol.. She doesn't mind.. YET! Good thing one of my BFF's is a hairdresser so that C.C.'s hair will get done periodically.

I forget how much I LOVE this age!! They are exploring so much and are so interested in EVERYTHING! So easily entertained.. I just LOVE it!! C.C. and Cy are so sweet together. Cy is so kind and gentle with her, and it seems like C.C. smiles anytime Cy walks into a room.. He can just LOOK at her and she giggles. I LOVE it! She giggles so easily and all the time! Other things she is doing is sitting up (Barely, as of 2 days ago).. It's so cute to see her sitting up and her chubby little legs just chillin.. C.C. LOVES to chew on EVERYTHING she can get her chubby little hands on!! She reaches for EVERYTHING!! She ALWAYS wants cell phones and chapstick! What is it with babies having such a huge interest in cell phones at such a young age??? I think we learned our lesson with Cy and the slobbering of cell phones and breaking them, so we don't really give them to C.C. like we did with Cy.. 2nd child syndrome, I guess.. C.C. is very independent already! :( It kinda makes me sad, because Cy is STILL a cuddler.. They are so different!! I guess it's a good and a bad thing, but she doesn't really like being held as much as Cy did.. She doesn't like being rocked to sleep. When she is tired she likes just being put in her bed to put herself to sleep. It really is nice, but I still LOVE to cuddle my babies. They aren't babies for long, and it makes me sad that they grow up so fast!! This girl is nosy!! There cannot be anyone in the room talking while I'm feeding her because she likes to look at whoever is talking and she won't eat if there is a lot going on and then she wonders why she is still hungry!! haha.. I wonder where she gets the nosy side of her!! hahahaha.. She gets it from BOTH SIDES, so it was inevitable!! She really does look at whoever is talking all the time, and she will just STARE!! C.C. LOVES to eat solids.. We have only given her rice cereal so far, but she embraced it so well the FIRST time she had it! No spitting up! haha.. She was READY! I remember her always watching us while we ate and would reach for our food, so I decided at 5 months that she was ready for solids and she LOVES them! I just bought some veggies to try before fruit (recommendation from our Pediatrician). We will see this week how well she takes to them.. Starting with the greens.. uck.. Good luck C.C.!! Talking has also been on C.C.'s list.. She doesn't really TALK in words (obviously), but she likes to immitate the sound of our words.. I love it!! She is so sweet, she will just blab to herself in the mornings when she wakes up, it doesn't last long before she's screaming to get outta bed, but it's dang cute while it lasts!! C.C. rolls over as well, so we have to really watch her now when she is on beds or in the bath. I love it when she is rolling onto her tummy and she can't get her chubby little arm out from under her chubby body. We have actually been really spoiled with C.C., she is such a happy baby.
There is so much I have done different this time around.. I can actually let her cry for more than 5 minutes when she is in her bed!! haha.. I would never let Cy cry and he still ends up in our bed at almost 3 years old (bad, I know).. I couldn't imagine having 2 in our bed, so I guess her independence has a lot to do with "sleep training". It's been nice, but I still LOVE to cuddle and it was a lot easier to plop them on when they were hungry and just go back to sleep, now I actually have to get OUT of bed to feed her!! lol.. hopefully, as a result of it she will sleep through the night sooner than Cy did. We shall see!! Right now she only wakes up once or twice to eat, so I can't complain.. Cy was still up at LEAST 3 or 4 times at this age.. THANK YOU NICOLLE!!
Overall, we just LOVE our princess!! We can't imagine our little family without her!! We love you C.C... 6 months down and ETERNITY to go!!!

NEW HOME and C.C. GIRL...

I am so late on blogging.. Go figure, we are STILL not COMPLETELY moved in our house, but we are moved in, nonetheless!! We LOVE IT! We love having a place we can call "Home" .. Cy hasn't QUITE adapted as well as I wished he would... Sometimes when we are going to bed or down for a nap he starts to fuss and says, "I wanna go home" and I say "Cy, this is our new home" and he says "No, I wanna go to our other home".. I guess it will just take time, the "other" home is all he has known for almost 3 years now!! Speaking of.. I can't believe my baby will almost be 3 years old!!! TIME FLIES!! I haven't really had a chance to take pics of our new home yet, but I will get on that ASAP!! We have been working on getting furniture and blinds (we are doing the blankets and lavalava's in the windows for now.. Ghetto, I know) We have also been working on finishing our basement.. I will post pics when it's all done!

Lachelle's man came to visit for her birthday / Valentine's day and so I stole a few pics off her blog.. UANI is his name and he is such a great guy!! They are seriously so cute together.. You can KINDA see our main floor and our front porch in these pics.. Not really, but that's all I have right now. haha..

My sweet sister in law, Lizzy took some pics of C.C. for us and I LOVE them!! They really turned out so great! I told her she should look into starting her own business.. She is only in High School and could have a nice photography business by the time she is my age if she starts now! So here is our C.C. girl at 5 months old..

"I'M A BIG KID NOW"

Buying a house comes with mixed emotions.. As some of you may know, we have been looking for a home for quite some time now. We have been looking for about a year now, but our plans got put on hold with the Hawaii fiasco, so now that we have that out of the way we started looking hard core about a month ago, and "VOILA" - we closed on our FIRST HOME today!! WOOHOO!! My very FIRST reaction was ECSTATIC.... Then came...

NERVOUS feelings!! SO MANY responsibilities come along with owning a home (mostly financial), but I figure I can work it out now that I'm 28 years old.. haha.. But, I'm still nervous, nonetheless...

My very last reaction was SADNESS, only to be leaving the home of our in-laws.. We have had so much love and support since we have been staying there, not only from my in-laws, but my family as well.. They were only a hop skip and a jump from where we live now, and they were willing to come over anytime to watch the kids (or I could just drop them off there on my way places). Cy has pretty much been raised in the mornings by Connie (my mother in law), and he will be sad to wake up and not be able stand at the bottom of the stairs yelling "NAMA" until she comes down to get him to come up and eat breakfast, paint, draw, feed the chickens, water the garden, etc.. I'm so grateful for that bond that they have and the close relationship Cy will always have with her because of that..

We will be living in Eagle Mountain, the RANCHES, so if any of you are out that way give us a HOLLA!!! haha.. I think it will take bribing to get our family and friends to come visit us out there! It will be interesting to see how we adjust as our own little family.. However, Aunty Chelle has agreed to live there half the time with us and help out here and there! Thanks LACH!! LOVE YOU!! Can't wait to move into our new house!!!

Above all, I hope to make our new home a warm place to provide happy memories for our children.. A safe haven full of LOVE (that's really how I feel, as cheesy as it sounds)... Wish us luck!!

HELP HAITI

My cousin Leslie has sent this email to me, which I am very grateful for.. I have been wanting to help, but I didn't know where to even start.. if you are like me then please read!! I will be going to help assemble kits with them on the 23rd, so if you would like to donate items for the kits, let me know and I would be more than happy to pick them up from you! :) ........

Friends, friends of friends.. of friends.. of friends (ask everyone you know to help!)Our hearts are broken for those people in Haiti. We can't even begin to imagine the heart ache of the people devastated by this massive earthquake. Not being able to find your family, not being able to find food or shelter.Did you know that 80% of the people in Haiti live off less than $2 per day? Most the people don't have electricity or running water. This country is poverty stricken and they need our help, TODAY!!We have decided to organize a project that will directly help the people of Haiti. We have decided to assemble 100 Hygiene Kits - but we can't do it alone.

Will YOU help? This week we are asking for donations to put these kits together. Here is what wee need. (All items can be purchased at Dollar Stores)
100 Gallon Sized Ziplock Bags
200 Plastic Combs - no sharp edges
400 Toothbrushes - must be packaged
100 Tubes of Toothpaste
200 bars of soap
200 15x25 inch hand towels - can be purchased or made with terry cloth by zig zagging or surging the edges
Please help us reach our goal of 100 Hygiene Kits. If everyone would just provide ONE item we know we can make this happen!! (Or even better - rally everyone you know, family, friends coworkers and get lots of items to donate). NO DONATION IS TOO SMALL!
Donations can be dropped off at Leslie's house. 111 Chandlerpoint Way, Draper, UT 84020
If you would like to help assemble the kits please join us on Saturday January 23rd at 9 AM at Leslie's house.
If you would like to make a monetary donation to help buy supplies you can send a check to me or you can send money through PayPal (leslieamoss@gmail.com).

100% of what is donated will go to making these kits.

Together we CAN make a difference! Together we WILL make a difference!
Will YOU help? Please join us! (or start your own project!!)
